Located in Calabasas, California, Maverick has created innovative technology designed for sales organizations, such as ISO’s and ISV’s, looking to monetize payments by reselling our white-labeled payments stack. Our payment products include merchant acquiring services, a proprietary gateway, ACH processing, fraud & chargeback tools, analytics, and other value-add services. Maverick’s team includes underwriting, risk management, compliance & legal, technology & product development, on-boarding, customer support, information technology, and more.About the Position:
As a Senior Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive legal support to our attorneys. This position requires a proactive and resourceful individual who can assist with legal research, document preparation, case management, and other tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the legal department.
- Assist with drafting, reviewing, and editing legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, responses to document requests, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal procedures.
- Assist in managing and organizing case files, including maintaining electronic and physical records, tracking deadlines, and coordinating with external parties.
- Act as the front-line in liaising with other departments and leaders within the company on behalf of the legal department, including, without limitation, gathering information and documentation, scheduling meetings, and providing updates on case progress.
- Assist in managing the company’s collections cases through external legal firms, which includes maintaining trackers, organizing and managing documents, coordinating document productions, and responding to requests.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and coordinating meetings for attorneys.
- Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations relevant to the industry and provide updates to the legal team.
- Conduct legal research and analysis under the direction and supervision of legal personnel to support attorneys in case preparation, strategy, and decision-making.
- Completion of a paralegal certification program or equivalent education and experience.
- At least 4-6 years of experience working as a paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Proficient in using legal research tools, case management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and other team members.
