The Child Activities Assistant will provide developmentally appropriate play, stimulation, and comfort to infants, children, and adolescents based on assessed individual and group needs.The Child Activities Assistant will maintain a clean and safe play environment and will keep supplies and storage areas organized.Responsibilities1.Distributes toys, games, movies, and other activities to pediatric patients; interacts with patients in the playroom or at bedside at a developmentally appropriate level2.Cleans used/soiled toys daily according to policy; maintains a clean and safe environment in the playroom by checking toys and equipment for safe and proper functioning; records cleaning in daily logs3.Oversees use and maintenance of electronic gaming equipment in the playroom and patient rooms4.Organizes and maintains toys, supplies, and equipment in storage areas; distributes in-kind donations to patients as needed5.Documents activities and services provided within the patient’s electronic health record6.Delegates appropriate duties to volunteers as neededExperience Required3-5 years experience working with childrenEducation RequirementsHS diploma/GED required, Associated degree preferred in Psychology, Child Development, or other related fieldLicense/Certification RequirementsSkills/QualificationsCPR-BLS preferredCommunication – Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and coworkers
