- Bachelor's degree and three years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- Two years of experience with business process and data analysis functions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in communicating (oral and written) with management, providers, vendors, and other employees.
- Professional interest in health policy or health care issues.
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Word, and Outlook/Email.
- Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to PowerPoint.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Excel.
- Tracks, monitors, and forecasts the non-claims benefit expense spending and projections. Under the direction of the manager or lead,
- Meets with various department heads and business owners to gain insights on future contracts and initiatives. Understands the objectives/goals of these initiatives that are often strategic and complex in scope.
- Collaborates with leaders in all Divisions to maintain bi-directional communication between Divisions.
- Works closely with Financial Services and Corporate Analytics to track and load actual spending throughout the year.
- Supports the rate filing and Medicare bid processes surrounding non-claims spending.
- Assess feasibility and accuracy of financial projections.
- Coordinates the operating budget process for the Health Services Division.
- Monitors and tracks actual spending against budget throughout the year and meets with department heads to provide further analysis and support.
- Monitors the vacancy rates and complement reports for the division as it relates to salaries expense.
- Supports the corporate initiatives and projects surrounding HSD financial performance/impact, such as initiatives to mitigate medical and drug trend or managing cost of care spend.
- Provides financial support to executives within HSD, specifically the Chief Health Officer, the SVP's of the various departments within HSD, and their designees.
- Creates, operates, and provides accounting/reporting for new strategic programs and initiatives within HSD which require financial transactions and/or monetary exchange.
