The Retirement Plan Consultant role is responsible for building and maintaining client relationships by providing outstanding client service and advice to the firm's clients. The Consultant guides clients in the ongoing fiduciary oversight of their retirement program by delivering the firm's standard deliverables consistent with the Plan Forward consulting philosophy and the firm's Annual Fiduciary Program.Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact to assigned clients
- Attend all client workgroup and committee meetings for assigned clients
- Deliver standard client deliverables
- Write meeting minutes for each client meeting
- Respond to ad hoc client inquiries and create custom deliverables, as needed
- Interface with the centralized service teams to implement client decisions
- Create and update business processes to reflect client decisions
- Initiate internal workflows
- Update CRM to reflect client decisions
- Maintain CRM with client changes
- Consulting team subject matter expert
- Serve as an internal subject matter expert to the assigned consulting team
- Attend committee meetings for other clients assigned to the team to provide expertise
- Business development (20%)
- Develop and maintain relationships with centers of influence (e.g. retirement plan auditors, ERISA attorneys, recordkeepers, etc.)
- Track and maintain relationships with former clients as they move among organizations
- Nurture and engage with assigned leads with the intent to move them along the business development process
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with the firm's core clients
- Demonstrated ability to service top-tier clients in support of the Senior Consultant
- Demonstrated ability to lead consulting engagements without direct support of a Senior Consultant
- Development of intermediate technical knowledge across the firm's areas of expertise (fiduciary governance, investments, recordkeeping oversight, or plan operations) to complement deep technical knowledge in one area
- Demonstrated ability to present all of the firm's standardized client deliverables
- Compensation is commensurate with experience
