The Resource is hiring a Welding Engineer for our client, a supplier of railroad and transit system products and services, located in Winston-Salem, NC! This is a permanent, Direct-Hire opportunity that offers a salary range of $100,000-$110,000 per year and has a 1st shift work schedule 7:00am-4;30pm. The Manufacturing Welding Engineer will oversee Manufacturing Engineering functions across various Machining and Fabrication areas. Responsibilities include developing and improving welding and/or fabrication processes, managing complex projects, creating job aids and work instructions, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. - Develop and enhance welding and/or fabrication manufacturing processes
- Create and maintain job aids, work instructions, Routings, and BOMs
- Manage complex projects and complete Part & Process SPAP/PPAP
- Execute Process Engineering Changes and maintain SFMEA, Control Plans, and PFMEA
- Provide LN system training and support to users
- Lead safety investigations and implement the 1Page DMAIC process
- Determine processing needs to meet schedules and production requirements
- Implement corporate initiatives such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and Internal Certification
- Monitor and improve safety on the shop floor and assess the training needs of the workforce
- Drive Root Cause identification and Continuous Improvement process
- Act as Facility Welding Engineer, testing and qualifying welders, and maintaining records
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to equipment, welding methods, and techniques
- Develop weld rework or repair procedures and approve rework or repairs performedQualifications:
- 2-year technical degree or equivalent manufacturing experience (4-year degree desired)
- Proficiency in PC/data entry and intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Office
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and prioritization skills
- Working understanding of welding processes, terminology, and documentation practices
- Ability to interpret welding symbols and implement repair methods and testing
