- Develop and implement the overall plant maintenance planning and purchasing process.
- Own maintenance planning process and tracking/assessing reliability related KPIs for all equipment in a 24/7 manufacturing plant
- Maintain consistent communication with maintenance, production, and processing departments to maximize machine uptime and ensure equipment is available for production
- Coordinate with Production & Maintenance leadership to schedule all maintenance activities for approximately 20 technicians while minimizing required downtime for PM's
- Provide on-going maintenance activity plans and reliability actions that ensure the reliability of plant production & infrastructure but not limited to:
- Preventative & Predictive maintenance programs
- Perform OEM evaluations to build, develop & maintain master rebuild schedule for the facility.
- Equipment and parts standardization
- Recommends and initiates continuous improvement projects to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness, performs job estimates, work scheduling and budget control.
- Accountable for Parts Inventory, implementation of min/max level optimization, cycle counting process, and overall stockroom management for the plant.
- Ensure all labor and parts are reported against appropriate codes, along with entry of all work orders into (CMMS).
- Administration, use, and oversight of the Maintenance, Repair, Operations (MRO) purchasing process for the plant.
- Coordinate with vendors to source, research, negotiate, and buy new products or services, including but not limited to: price, availability, lead time, warranty, and delivery schedule
- Develop and implement a yearly budget process, costing, purchasing, and tracking for all required MRO parts necessary to optimize uptime for the facility
- Responsible for use of the established bidding process when appropriate with reviews or bid proposals and negotiate contracts for Plant specific needs
- May back up Maintenance Supervision on occasion and supports the plant on off-shifts and weekends with emergency support 24/7 as required
- Other duties as required.
- Strong verbal, and written communication skills to effectively present information to all levels within the plant
- Understanding of systems involving Electrical, PLC, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Motors, motion control, and mechanical devices
- Strong computer skills, especially with Excel and experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Organization skills with ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at a time
- Attention to detail with all aspects of planning to prepare the maintenance staff on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), parts required, and safety
- Experience with basic reliability principles, PM development, and optimization
- Strong maintenance planning skills based on prior technical knowledge and experience
- Self-motivated with a high degree of accountability
- Associate's degree with a technical focus is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience that proves ability to perform role may be considered
- Minimum of 3+ years related experience with Maintenance Planning, Maintenance Supervisor, or hands-on maintenance within a manufacturing environment, and/or procurement
- Food Manufacturing and consumer packaging preferred or related industry experience
- Excellent record of safety and continuous improvement in an industrial setting
- Demonstrated track record of MRO alignment, coordination, and downtime planning
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Six Sigma preferred
