- Propose and implement the company sourcing strategy, follow up the internal sourcing procedure.
- Prepare and negotiate contract and purchasing terms with suppliers, in collaboration with legal department. Ensure that the company’s best interests are served in the short and long terms.
- Track the prices of raw materials/Fx rate, market trends/events to understand cost drivers to enable better negotiation.
- Maintain up to date price comparisons from alternative suppliers and also competitor suppliers.
- Achieve /exceed the company yearly targets (productivity, lead time, payment term, contract, dual-sourcing, sourcing dependency, alternative sourcing, more)
- Study the feasibility of alternative source for existing items and ensure the most competitive price is achieved, including exploring all the potential suppliers in China and other low-cost countries in Asia.
- Support and push Company’s CSR projects/processes towards each supplier.
- Search for and identify qualified suppliers able to provide products to fulfill functional specifications.
- Propose suitable suppliers and participate in the choice of the supplier/partner in accordance with the company's criteria for quality, cost, environmental and ethical considerations.
- Work together with project manager/R&D/Mkt to finalise the new supplier choice and support them in supplier/product sourcing.
- Work closely with Marketing /R&D and suppliers on innovative and new items. Must be pro-active in providing solution and concept to Marketing/R&D and able to provide information to related people involved.
- Understand the needs from marketing dept with supplier sourcing/sampling/ purchasing activities for all products and keep good relationship with them.
- Update upstream market new technology and give proposal to marketing dept for cost saving and increased product performance.
- Supplier assessment and visit
- Manage the relationship with the supplier/partner (as well as disputes) and ensures that the company's requirements and lead times are well understood and approved by the supplier.
- Ensure supplier smooth business running in delivery and quality. To be the interface between supply chain and supplier as well as quality and supplier
- Regularly visit suppliers and exhibitions
- Monthly report to the Purchasing Manager and analysis report of category
- Manage and ensure accurate purchasing database and all weekly/monthly reporting in Sharepoint
- Other duties as arise from time to time
- Textile Engineering background is mandatory
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 10 years in purchasing field
- At least 10 years of textile engineering background
- Experience and confidence in working and communicating in international environment company
- Fluent oral and writing in English
