The Production Manager will be responsible for managing the day to day running of the plant ensuring maximum efficiency and product quality. The role of the production Manager is to lead the Production teams in the achievement of functional objectives which support the Plant and Company Business Plan. Responsible for effective utilization of production facilities. Develop and motivate plant staff to reach the agreed goals and objectives.You will have a role to play to drive the operational standards in the plant. This role is fast paced, about multi tasking effectively and someone who loves that no 2 days are the same.Key Responsibilities:-Responsible for meeting agreed Production targets and reporting back to the General Manager
  • Strict control of processing wages
  • Improve control of other cost categories
  • Achieve budgeted efficiencies on a consistent basis
  • Improve accuracy and quality of weekly/period production within budgetary constraints
  • Stock control and ordering of all linen, chemical and consumable requirements within budgetary constraints.
-Manage a team of production supervisors and Team leads.
  • Develop a higher sense of awareness and ownership amongst supervising team
  • Clear communication of role re productivity, staff motivation, cross training, adherence to existing procedures and process controls
-Allocating the necessary staff throughout the plan to ensure optimal efficiency and targets-Investigate and resolve all production related issues-Working with Health and Safety to promote and manage H+S activities with an overall responsibility for site, personal and product, produced safely
  • Promote an awareness of and compliance with established procedures
  • Conduct regular safety meetings
  • Assess training needs/ schedule carry out and record
-Liaise with the HR department in relation to any HR issues, staff training & recruitment
  • Ensure all functional teams and staff comply with Group and plant HR policies and procedures
  • Promote staff well-being and team spirit.
-Liaise with the Customer Service Manager, Linen Service coordinators and reps in relation to orders and customer / production related issues
  • Complaints handling to be timely and effective with a focus on permanent corrective action
-Liaise with Distribution /Logistics Manager in relation to soil collection and stock rotation to complement production planning and subsequently enhance service and supply to our customers-Support General Manager in management and introduction of ad hoc projects as and when required.A full induction and training plan will be drawn up and communicated with you on commencement of this role. You will have to be flexible in the role.Knowledge and Skills· Proven work experience as Production Manager or similar role· Demonstrable knowledge of organisation effectiveness, best management practices and project management.· Strong interpersonal skills, a vision for success, and the ability to take responsibility, coach, develop and mentor.· Demonstrable track record in driving the best out of people whilst at the same time managing to agreed / business deadlines
