The Millwright will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, calibrating, modifying, and testing mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment. This position will be required to assist process engineering in resolving mechanical-related problems while working in a team environment.DUTIES:
- Responsible for the installation, trouble shooting, modification, repair, testing, configuration, commissioning, and maintenance of all mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical plant manufacturing equipment.
- Understand CMMS programs to conduct preventative maintenance inspections and related repairs on plant equipment as directed.
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect potential failures and eliminate unplanned downtime.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electromechanical production equipment.
- Understand, observe, and comply with company's health and safety rules & regulations, lockout procedures and OSHA guidelines.
- Complete daily maintenance work orders in an efficient and timely manner.
- Actively participate and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices in work area using the 5S principles.
- As required, provide training to new and/or junior employees with a focus on performing work in a safe, efficient, quality minded manner.
- Ensure full adherence to the “Leader Standard Work” profile.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) -relevant measures to promote an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) workspace.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Ability to detect technical malfunctions, root cause and apply sound solutions for repair.
- Ability to disassemble & reassemble mechanical components.
- Knowledge of and ability to use machine shop tools and equipment.
- Ability to perform routine welding and machining.
- Competent skills in electrical/electronics.
- Familiarity of PLC, HMI, drives and schematic reading would be an asset.
- Effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
- Ability to interpret AutoCAD drawings, blueprints, and sketches.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills and familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
- Basic understanding of CMMS programs.
- Standing for sustained periods of time.
- Making substantial movements/motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Frequently lifting and/or moving spools weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Occasionally required to sit; climb and stoop, kneel or crouch.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Industrial Mechanic / Millwright Certificate of Qualification preferred.
- Welding Certificate or completion of training preferred.
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
- Noise level is usually moderate to high.
