- Gather intelligence from business about needs and document requested solution.
- Develop requirement documents, workflow diagrams and ultimately build solution design documents.
- Design and execute test plans based on requirements and solution design. Assume responsibility for project tasks and ensure they are completed in a timely fashion.
- Establish and enforce project milestones and timelines.
- Gather and execute business feedback.
- Evaluate, test and recommend new opportunities for enhancing our software.
- Troubleshoots application errors or applications not operating. In conjunction with users, isolates problems from symptoms, determines solution or alternatives, develops and implements a resolution. If problem is user error, improve user instructions or train for better understanding.
- Reviews performance of applications programs to ensure program efficiency, program documentation, and to ensure that output meets the needs of user departments
- Keeps technically current on each upgrade to SQL forms, PL/SQL, as well as MGA/MGU and other applications as warranted.
- Ensures the integrity of the system at all times including data integrity when developing, maintaining or enhancing applications.
- Special Projects to be assigned as needed.
- 15-25% Travel to our office sites
- Bachelors' degree in Computer Science; supplemented with 3 years of related work experience in an organizational setting.
- Must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of the property/ Casualty insurance industry focused on policy life-cycle and loss data. MGU experience preferred.
- Must be familiar with SDLC principles.
- Knowledge of database and data management best practices.
- Superior Verbal and written communication skills, including listening to stakeholders.

- SQL capabilities to include experience with complex report creation from multiple data sources where required.
- Ability to recommend design changes to databases, applications, designs, and reports.
- Ability to work effectively within office information and data processing systems.
- Ability to interface with colleagues in multiple disciplines, including but not limited to property/casualty insurance, actuary, financial planning/analysis & audit.
- Strong underlying basic IT knowledge, PC skills, MS Office, and hardware connection.
