Job SummaryThis position will support the medication safety team through coding and analysis of events. This position will need to be familiar with the medication use cycle to ensure foundational knowledge of opportunities. The person in this role will need to have great interpersonal communication skills and process improvement knowledge.Under minimal direction, coordinates a program or service within designated pharmacy areas. Functions mostly independently in decision making with limited guidance. Performs Quality Assurance activities and projects as assigned. Maintains department records and assigned departmental/institutional programs. May interact with other departments and/or businesses outside of Corewell Health System. Enhanced knowledge of area assigned above and beyond technician responsibilities.Essential Functions
  • Coordinates area of assigned responsibility within the pharmacy department.
  • Assumes ownership and ensures quality and completeness of work assigned.
  • Participates in assigned group work or committees.
  • Responsible for data collection and/or reporting related to assigned area/project.
  • Serves as a role model and leader in the department.
  • Escalates any concerns that are identified in their area of work through chain of command.
  • Involved with business operations and/or department compliance initiatives.
  • See attached addendums (if applicable) for additional site-specific duties.
  • Work with the event reporting system and other areas for data related to medication safety events.
  • Ability to work through a variety of Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications
  • Required High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of four years of pharmacy experience. Required
  • LIC-Pharmacy Technician - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • Ideal candidate will possess Full Pharmacy Technician License and/or National Certification, such as PTCB
  • Ideal experience will be Inpatient Pharmacy experience
  • Will also consider candidates with any vast Pharmacy experience
  • This Pharmacy Technician will primarily be working our Event Reporting Queue, but will also be helping to track and trend errors as well as presenting this information to various clinical and operational experts
  • This Technician may also need to assist On-Site for significant Go-Lives impacting Medication Safety
  • This role will require solid interpersonal/communication skills and process improvement knowledge/passion as well as strong MS Office proficiency
  • This position will primarily work from home, but may also work from Corewell Health Place or Butterworth, both located Downtown Grand Rapids
