- Provide technical, professional & disciplinary leadership to design, develop, release, integrate, validate BMS and attributes of software, hardware and testing.
- Adopt a system engineering approach through collaboration within green energy and with the wider vehicle engineering organisation.
- Drive the Alstom standards, ensuring robust system design, development and integration. Lead continuous improvement of engineering processes.
- Develop and maintain key supplier relationships (internal and external), maximising commonality, best practice and value for money.
- Develop and lead key internal relationships on critical component areas within the Battery Electronics Module, the traction/auxiliary battery pack, the control system software team, and the vehicle HV/LV system.
- Engage cross functionally with Vehicle Engineering, Industrial Operations, Engineering Operations, Procurement and Quality teams.
- Develop the strategic direction of the Battery Management System development.
- Decision on the use of specific tools/applications to improve processes in development.
- Creation of project and cost planning, including resource planning in the BMS team.
- Coordination and control of the work packages and results of the development team, as well as ensuring development quality within the specified time and cost framework
- Product and process optimization, as well as the implementation of new processes
- Networking with the other departments in the company, especially with green platform, project management, the battery systems engineering department and quality.
- Push the boundaries of technologies to maximise performance and minimise cost.
- Work with suppliers to develop custom parts where needed and accredited labs to verify the BMS design.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Design, System EE, Cell Engineering, Firmware, Algorithms, etc.) to ensure the product is developed on time and on budget
- Provide support to Functional Safety and Cybersecurity teams, collaborating to ensure the safety and security of Battery Management Systems.
- Conduct investigations and prepare reports for problems or issues.
- BTech/ MTech degree in electrical/ electronic / computer/ control engineering.
- More than 5 years relevant industry experience in controlling and leading small teams for design, development, or testing of Battery Management System (BMS), preferably in railway, aviation or automative industry.
- Process knowledge and experience for successful series product development (ISO26262, A-SPICE).
- Expertise in battery management systems for lithium-ion batteries and embedded systems and control devices.
- Strong analytical and conceptual project management skills, as well as excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience in employee management, including the corresponding soft skills.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of industrial development cycles (V-cycle, quality reviews, ...). Strong awareness of costs, deadlines and quality.

- Fluency in English (spoken and written) required for internal and external communications.
