  • Creates, refines, implements, and manages strategic plans to discover and develop new business opportunities for Murata's Sensor Products.
  • Accomplishes this internally, in conjunction and cooperation with Product Management, Sales, and Murata Japan, as well as externally with local Sales Representatives, as necessary.
Sales Promotion
  • Visits customers to achieve design-ins and total customer satisfaction, as needed upon request.
  • Visits with Murata Product Managers, Murata Japan visitors, and Sales Representatives, as required.
  • Plans, manages, assists, and participates in customer road shows as well as participating in industry tradeshows, as required.
Market Position
  • Studies and reports current market portfolio including trends, size, and maturity.
  • Benchmarks Murata's position against competitors, developing strategies to increase market share.
Measures output and Return on Investment (ROI)
  • Creates new sales tools and updates existing sales tools.
  • Completes the design-in-cycle process by tracking design wins to the mass production point and/or end customers.
  • Works as a team with the Murata Sales organization to maximize the Bill of Materials (BOM) content-capture ratio.
Early Supplier Involvement (ESI) Activities
  • Participates and manages ESI activities within the guidelines of Murata Japan's Research & Development groups, as needed.
Miscellaneous Job ResponsibilitiesResearch
  • Researches technical market trends by reviewing information from tradeshows, symposiums or technical conferences, industry groups, applicable technical and industry publications, market research firms, and academic or university groups or labs.
  • Issues MT to provide new business opportunity information to sales groups for their initiation of SOP. In critical circumstances, if the Sales Group (MENA direct, Rep) is unable to take immediate action or not support the account, take the initiative to issue an SOP.
MARCOM Support
  • May create and submit technical, application-based, original articles and papers at technical symposiums or conferences or for publication in technical trade magazines.
  • May undertake other MARCOM and Marketing Support group activities.
What Is Required (Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • 3+ years of related experience with experience in customer-facing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in interpersonal skills including effective collaboration and communication skills.
  • Well-developed presentation skills as well as facilitation skills to work among individuals from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong time management skills to accomplish short and long-term assignments as well as judgment, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Automotive industry-related experience.
  • Two+ years' experience supporting MEMS Sensors and other sensor products for the automotive market.
  • Detailed knowledge of all Murata's technical and business operations.
  • Experience selling electrical components through various sales channels.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor material, process, and design technologies.
  • Experience using CRM software (e.g., SFDC, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Project Management training or certification.
  • Bi-lingual Japanese verbal and written communication skills.
