We are looking for a Staking Engineer to report to our Lamar or Springfield, Colorado location. Southeast Colorado Power Association (SECPA) is a member-owned rural electric cooperative that provides electric service to over 10,500 AMI meters at 55MW peak. The 13,000 square mile service territory covers all or parts of 11 southeast Colorado counties with 5700 energized line miles (14.4kV, 24.9kV, 69kV). SECPA is headquartered in La Junta, Colorado with three satellite locations in Eads, Lamar, and Springfield. We offer competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package.Position Responsibilities include but are not limited to, drafting of plats, right-of-way applications and other related drawings; responsible for the development of construction drawings as required; cooperates with other employees in all areas to perform required work; must be willing to help any consumer-member who has a question on Line Extension Policy and Rates; responsible for transferring information to the proper person for keeping maps up to date; receives communications and directives and orally confirms full understanding; keeps supervisor informed of important information concerning the work performed; advises the Member Services Department of any known need for promotional or public relations services, including locations of new home construction and remodeling; promotes the efficient use of electricity and adequate wiring and such other services as may be offered within established policies and procedures of the Association.Minimum Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience as a journeyman lineman is preferred but not required. Must have a valid Colorado Driver's License. Possess excellent oral and written communications skills and the ability to work with members and employees. Attention to detail is a must.Benefits:

This position is included in a collective bargaining agreement. The required monthly union dues will be deducted from your paycheck.
