- 5+ years minimum of experience in full electrical design (power, lighting, and voltage)
- BS in Electrical Engineering or related science field
- Oregon Professional Engineer (PE) License required
- LEED experience is a plus
- Experience designing lighting systems which include controls and compliance with state energy codes
- Knowledge and use of all MS Office products, AutoCAD, Revit, EasyPower, and Visual
- Willingness to travel is required (extensive travel not anticipated). Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
- Effective written and oral communication skills including proposal and report writing
- Ability to work quickly, manage multiple and conflicting deadlines, and establish priorities
- Comfortable networking with clients and colleagues to develop and maintain professional relationships
- Personal responsibility for completing quality work within budgets and timelines
- Possess solid time management, and follow-through skills
- Proven ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented
- Lead and manage electrical/low voltage design components for projects from early planning through design development and construction
- Perform technical calculations, plan lighting and electrical sheet, detail drawings, specifications, recommendations, and construction cost estimate for projects
- Assist with project feasibility studies, prepare preliminary utility backbone infrastructure plans
- Review utility plans prepared by utility providers (e.g., PGE, Pacific Power, local PUD’s, Comcast, Ziply Fiber, etc.)
- Design of street and site lighting including photometric studies and plan preparation
- Drafting or preparing mark ups for lighting and power systems
- Design of low voltage power systems including utility coordination, circuiting, one-line diagrams, etc.
- Perform routine electrical engineering assignments, with instruction from the Project Engineer or Project Manager regarding the expected results
- Perform field inspections and/or evaluations of electrical systems and thorough on-going QA/QC review of deliverables
- Coordinate with in-house disciplines and outside subconsultants
- Perform site and infrastructure design per county/city standards and maintain good communication with the planning/engineering staff of the jurisdiction to minimize future changes and misunderstandings
- Prepare and manage project correspondence and documentation
- Tabulate bid items and calculate construction bid quantities and prepare cost estimates from plans and specifications.
- Network with clients, agency personnel, and colleagues to build/maintain professional network
- Drive company-owned vehicle to job sites and meetings
- Maintain relationships with clients to develop future opportunities
