- Leading the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server systems.
- Designing and implementing SQL Architecture for Cloud Service Offerings.
- Managing, configuring, and maintaining database servers and processes.
- Monitoring system's health and performance.
- Ensuring high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security.
- Analyzing, solving, and correcting issues in real time.
- Providing suggestions for solutions.
- Refining and automating regular processes, tracking issues, and documenting changes.
- Partnering with developers with query tuning and schema refinement.
- Being on hand to offer support for critical production systems.
- Performing scheduled maintenance and supporting release deployment activities after hours.
- Executing routine upgrades to keep the databases current and in compliance with the latest versions.
- 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA or similar role.
- Extensive experience with MSSQL Server Administration.
- Extensive experience with Azure SQL Managed Instances.
- Deep knowledge of Performance Tuning and Optimization.
- Expertise creating backups, restores and recovery models.
- A strong understanding of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
- A strong inclination toward scripting and automation, utilizing scripting languages or other methods to efficiently target and manage multiple servers within specified timeframes.
- Worked with both Windows server and Linux systems.
- Experience with alerting and monitoring tools, OpsGenie/Zabbix preferred.
- Working knowledge of GitHub/GitLab.
- MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications preferred.
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases like Cassandra or Mongo preferred.
