  • Experience leading technical Agile teams to execute with excellence.
  • Experience breaking down customer needs into technical requirements to work closely with Engineering resources in the delivery of software solutions.
  • S/he is comfortable working in a fast-paced, empowered team environment where the expectations are high and scope is scaling quickly.
  • S/he will be experienced in partnering with Engineering Management to lead cross-functional software delivery teams made up of both internal and external resources.
  • In this role, you will help teams adopt and mature their practice of Scrum.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ability to break down functional needs into technical requirements in order to coordinate and oversee the technical delivery of software capability.
  • Accountable for coordinating fixed versioning to track technical code through multiple development, stage, and production environments.
  • Accountable for coordinating cross-team dependencies and removing impediments (blockers) so teams can deliver products predictably.
  • Problem solve through delivery challenges, lead prioritization discussions and help keep teams focused on delivering highest priorities
  • Help the Product Manager/Owner manage their backlog effectively and maintain a healthy backlog of 2 to 3-sprints of dev ready features.
  • Facilitate getting the work done and setting work and reporting standards for delivery teams.
  • Lead monthly Value Stream and Portfolio level meetings to communicate Delivery status to leadership team.
  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame with an emphasis on problem solving.
  • Help to establish a culture of collaboration where teams are willing to try new ideas without fear of failure.
  • Lead all aspects of Quarterly Business Reviews including making sure teams are ready for planning, story mapping, identifying cross-team dependencies, facilitating planning activities, creating a program board, etc.
  • Drive teams to deliver on commitments and lead through delivery challenges.
  • Facilitate ongoing team planning activities and cross-team scrum ceremonies.
  • Train, coach and mentor a team of scrum masters
  • Lead Agile Center of Excellence, or equivalent ceremony, to foster alignment and consistency in ways of working across the portfolio.
  • Partner closely with other leads (Product, Engineering, QA, UX, and BI teams) to stay aligned on priorities, team health and tracking to program goals.
  • Provide regular program updates to ensure team, stakeholders and leadership stays connected to what's in progress, what's coming up and any risks or blockers

  • Ability to plan, scope, communicate, track the delivery timeline of both simple and complex initiatives.

Technical Acumen
  • Advance knowledge of user stories decomposition and definition of ready best practices. Ability to translate business needs to technical requirements.
  • Experience working with Platform and/or Enterprise architecture teams to leverage CI/CD pipelines to track code through environments. Understands how to align the user story workflow in a sprint cycle to leverage best practices in code development, integration, and quality review.
  • Experience configuring Atlassian products. Specifically understands how to set up a Jira Scrum board and configure issue type workflows.
  • Advance knowledge of release management and best practices. Understands canary deployments and can work closely with engineering resources to coordinate fixed versioning for codes releases.
Budgeting
  • Documents capital appropriations and project authorizations.
  • Under guidance, produces budget reports of planned vs. actual expenses with variances explained.
  • Applies established organizational practices in budgeting.
  • Uses budgeting and charge-back practices within own area.
Governance
  • Implements the mission, vision and objectives of the APMO governance function.
  • Works with APMO governance team to standardize ways of working at scale.
  • Works with APMO governance team to create and share documentation, standards, policies, and practices.
  • Employs appropriate metrics used to enable APMO governance reporting.
  • Assesses the major functions of governance tools and key governance reports.
  • Analyzes how APMO Governance applies to one's own function; applies relevant constructs to day-to-day work.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Advance Scrum Master Certification (CSM plus A-CSM or CSP-SM)
  • Agile Coaching Experience (Certified Agile coach preferred but not mandatory)
  • Experience working in scaled agile environment.
  • Experience as a Delivery Lead / Program Manager role for at least 2 years
  • Embody servant leadership
  • Strong skills in: Facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, team- empowerment, and building a transparent culture
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills
  • Advance Experience with Atlassian suite of tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
Financial Responsibilities:
  • Creates and manages budget for own operating group and programs/projects under their supervision (Program or operating budgets range from $1M-$50M)
  • Acts as a steward of the company in ensuring that program/project budgets are best utilized to achieve stated scope and so that anticipated benefits are realized.
  • Accountable for delivery of projects or programs within budget, on schedule and of quality
  • Solid understanding of accounting rules for expense and capital activities
  • Ensures efficient utilization of staff and non-labor resources.
  • Solid understanding of IT estimation activities. May lead large/complex estimation activities.
  • Accountable for financial implications and cost of systems and services.
  • Responsible for defining optimization opportunities to manage expenses.
Qualifications:
  • At least 8 years of experience in software development with at least 4 years of dedicated full-time Scrum Master and/or Agile Coach experience in software development
  • Has a proven track record of successfully growing and maturing teams and/or experience leading Agile transformations.
  • Is familiar with different agile methodologies including by not limited to Scrum, Kanban and Scaled Agile.
  • Is able to coach and train team members and others on the Scrum framework and related artifacts (user stories, story point estimation, etc.) as well as other agile methodologies to help guide teams to more successful outcomes.
  • Embody Scrum values and principles
  • Demonstrates and understands what specific Lean/Agile/Tools/Techniques/Principles to best apply, based on Team needs, environment and constraints.
  • Displays a 'continuous learning' mindset; always seeking to expand lean/agile knowledge and experience.
  • Capable of leading distributed and remote teams.
  • Mentor and coach multiple scrum masters
  • Hold the Team accountable to the agreements they set and the commitments they make.
  • Socialize and discuss team dashboards (burn ups, burn downs, etc.) always driving continuous improvement
  • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Knowledge about tasks, backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, user stories etc.
  • Experience in applying Scrum patterns and techniques (like Burndown techniques, Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.)
  • Master of JIRA, Confluence etc.
  • Advance Scrum Master and/or Agile Coaching certification.
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred in IT or Computer Science)
