We have a temporary opportunity for a Historic Environment Assistant until 31 December 2027 to join the North Pennines National Landscape team.WHAT IS INVOLVED?You will support the delivery of the Land of Lead and Silver project. Specifically, it will focus on the interpretation of the industrial heritage of the North Pennines. The role involves gathering historic and interpretive material from previous National Landscape projects, and other groups and individuals, and collating and curating interpretive output for the project.You will work closely with the Land of Lead and Silver project team and Communications team to turn this into material ready for digital platforms including, but not limited to social media, website, newsletters, vlogs etc.We encourage you to contact Andie Harris, Project Manager - Historic Environment via email at to arrange an informal discussion about the role.WHAT WILL I NEED?You will be educated to a level 5 qualification in a relevant subject (relevant in subject to the work of the North Pennines National Landscape team or to this role) or with significant work experience in a related role.You should have significant experience of researching historic records and of communicating directly with a broad range of people and their communities and representative organisations.Please refer to the attached person specification for the full criteria.If successful, you will be required to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure.HOW TO APPLYIn line with the County Council's Recruitment and Selection Policy, please note that we are unable to accept CVs.
