Job DescriptionAs part of The Community Relations department, the Family Liaison Translator will play a key role in providing support, effective communication, and creating an inclusive environment for the non-bilingual wives and families of Brewers uniformed personnel. The person in this position will function as a connection between non-bilingual wives, families, and the Community Relations department, providing resources and translating communication and other correspondence between English and Spanish as well as performing additional responsibilities including supporting community events, the Brewers Family Room, and player & wives appearances, and supporting other departments as needed.Core duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
Serve as the translator for non-bilingual wives and families of Brewers uniformed personnel, facilitating communication and producing accurate, translated documentation when required
Assist non-bilingual wives with questions regarding Club activities and policies
Develop and implement Spanish-language communications
Relay concepts and ideas between languages
Translate Community Relations written materials from English to Spanish such as manuals, meeting materials, emails, and other correspondence throughout the season
Edit and proofread text to ensure translations and language are accurate and clear
Support translation needs for uniformed personnel as needed
Translate at monthly meetings, events, fundraising efforts, and community outreach activities
Assist with coordinating and executing community outreach activities for local charities of their choosing.
Provide Family Room assistance as needed to support providing a safe, secure and entertaining environment for non-bilingual children of Brewers uniformed personnel
Assist with accompanying non-bilingual wives of uniformed personnel and other staff to community events and appearances inside and outside the ballpark and act as the official translator to facilitate discussions as needed
Assist non-bilingual wives with day-of-game activities and pre-game initiatives involving school groups, nonprofit groups, in-game experience recipients and players’ families.
Assist non-bilingual wives with use of the Family Room, Suites for baby showers, meetings, and bible studies, among other activities
Provide other administrative support to Community Relations staff as needed
ExperienceThe ideal candidate will have three to five years of related experience.Work HoursHours vary according to the game and event schedule.
