- Proactively sell Palisades Tahoe group lodging, conferences, banquets, events and mountain activities.
- Log all sales activities in Salesforce.com. Understand Salesforce reporting functionalities.
- Meet or exceed sales goals as determined by the Director of Sales.
- Actively collaborate with Conference Planning, Food and Beverage, Front Desk, Reservations, Revenue Management, Mountain Operations, and the Lodging General Manager to consistently deliver exceptional results for clients.
- Conduct client site tours & FAM trips.
- Work in partnership with Alterra Mountain Company to increase conference sales reach when appropriate.
- Respond to all incoming leads in a timely fashion.
- Meet or exceed individual outbound call expectations resulting in incremental revenue generation to find new conference, banquet and event business opportunities.
- Write captivating proposals that will get the attention of potential clients.
- Contract writing and negotiations.
- Business travel 10-25% of the time based on business levels.
- Manage time accordingly between outbound calls, sales trips, site tours, proposals, contract writing, networking with clients
- Assist and implement marketing promotions and eblasts. Collaborate with Marketing to build brand awareness.
- 4-year College Degree
- Minimum of 5 years of Conference sales experience
- Experience working closely with internal clients to produce results
- Familiarity with destination sales, prefer experience selling Lake Tahoe
- Communication: Able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally across all levels of the organization. Able to effectively present information to management, employees, and customers.
- Organization: Demonstrate ability to proactively prioritize needs, put first things first, and effectively manages resources and time. Excellent organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Reasoning Ability: Able to make independent judgments which have considerable impacts on the organization. Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
- Working knowledge of computers including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
- Travel is required.
