- Communicate the core values and mission of BlueStar Resort & Golf (BSRG) to support the achievement of company goals.
- Responsible for setting up the golf course for safe and professional play, including the greens, tee box, and fairways and roughs, with attention to green surfaces, plugs, divots, soil accumulation, disintegrated gravel, trash and plant debris, disease or insects, or other course interruptions.
- Ensure that supplies and equipment for set up are available in the utility cart.
- Inspect the golf holes for advance warning of irrigation problems or other unusual occurrences; report to the Assistant Superintendents.
- Mentor and develop staff in equipment operation and job tasks; create a productive and enjoyable work environment, and inspire, motivate, and lead by example.
- In collaboration with the Assistant Superintendents, direct team members for special events, such as shotgun tournaments or other roles; check the job board for special instructions.
- Work in a safe manner and use all personal protective equipment (safety gear) assigned.
- Be aware of safety requirements and report unsafe conditions or accidents to supervisor.
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
- Must be highly customer oriented and responsive with high need for closure.
- Able to work under pressure and balance multiple priorities and assignments.
- Strong team-building skills including the ability to lead, cooperate, and motivate.

- High School diploma preferred, or the equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Two to three years’ experience with golf course maintenance.
- Document knowledge of golf course preparation with references and work history.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
- Enjoys the game of golf and understands how attention to quality in the details, like properly set hole locations, tee markers, etc., creates optimal playing conditions.
- Must be able to read and interpret tournament instruction sheets.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports, plans, labels, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and regulatory documents.
- Must be self-motivated and able to supervise the duties of direct reports.
- Must be able to lead by example by taking a proactive position to all issues concerning golf course preparation.
- Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards; attention to detail, accuracy and meeting timeliness is a must.
- Must demonstrate initiative—ability to think, work, and make independent decisions, based on sound judgment.
- Must have strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, with excellent customer services skills and an ability to respond to the needs and requests of coworkers, guests, and he golf shop.
- Must be willing to accept responsibility for tasks, actions, and decisions; ability to make good decisions based on sound judgement.
- Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards; attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness a must.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.
- This position requires a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekend.
- Valid driver’s license may be required to operate some vehicles.
- There may be frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions.
- Outdoor environments may require variable terrain while carrying equipment and navigating typical golf course obstacles, including, but not limited to, water, plants, and the natural landscape. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, and falls.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to Arizona desert wildlife such as snakes, scorpions, spiders, bobcats, javelinas, etc.
- There may be occasional exposure to precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can vary depending on the equipment or machines used.
- Employees are required to wear all assigned personal protective equipment.
- This position may be very active and may require standing and walking for the duration of a shift, sitting and driving, lifting, pushing, digging, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, using hands to fingers, touching and holding, and reaching with hands and arms; regularly required to speak and hear.
- The employee must be able to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
