Description :Job Title: Manufacturing Manager Level:Reports To: Cold End Group Leader Location: RossfordDepartment: Cold End Employees Supervised: 0 - 9Remote Work: N/APurpose:Direct, coordinate, and lead all functions necessary for continuous shift operation of float glass manufacture. Directs and coordinates the Shift Leadership Team. Able to act as the fill in for these positions as requiredEssential Functions:
  • Responsible for reporting for all plant emergencies.
  • To instigate studies and engineer solutions to overcome quality and safety problems, to reduce waste and improve team performance.
  • Assist in the development of new products or processes or systems.
  • Assists in the design, installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment and other systems to ensure that this introduction into the production facility is handled efficiently and within the minimum disruption.
  • Investigate and analyze machinery downtime and engineer solution or corrective activities to eliminate future re-occurrence.
  • Coordinate maintenance of plant electrical power systems & distribution
  • Energy savings project tracking, reporting, & implementation
  • Work together with team members, drives process continuous improvement and drives quality continuous improvement coordinating corrective actions as necessary.
  • To train team members in standard operating procedures (SOP) and ensure regular audits for the maintenance of such procedures.
  • Identify and update spare part inventory to eliminate downtime due to lack of spares.
  • Oversee outside contractors.

Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Operation Management / Engineering / related business field or the equivalent skills in experience.
  • 5-7 years of manufacturing or related experience.
  • Excellent people and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills through leadership by example.
  • Demonstrated ability to continually improve the process, product, and skills of the organization.
  • Ability to meet safety and Job Hazard analysis requirements for glass manufacturing.
Qualifications Desired:
  • Six sigma certifications
  • Previous glass experience
  • Engineering/Manufacturing Experience
  • Desired to have a working knowledge of all activities in all areas of the glass manufacturing process.
