- Determine the steps necessary to assess an electrical situation using testing devices, blueprints and maps.
- Ability to identify electrical problems with a variety of testing
- Repairs and replaces of wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
- Inspects electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers or high voltage systems (Line Voltage)
- Load test emergency
- Install sound systems, security systems and voice and data
- Install lighting, electrical outlets, and circuit breakers, distribution
- Be familiar with Lock out / Tag out
- Conduit layout and installation all sizes and types.
- Threads conduit ends and connect couplings and conduit
- Secures brackets to bulkheads with screws and bolts and pull wires through conduit leading to connection boxes, switch panels, and other
- Pulling cables of all sizes and types.
- Testing and troubleshooting of motors, VFDs, transformers and other equipment.
- Maintains power and lighting control systems.
- Must adhere to state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code and NFPA 70 e standards
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements and also through reporting violations of policies, procedures and guidelines to immediate supervisor.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Associate Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering Technology from a Trade or Vocational school, Community College or Technical school, preferred.
- Minimum four (4) years experience as an Electrician, or Electrical helper.
- Valid Journeyman Electrician License; Master Electrical License, preferred.
- Prior experience working in hospital setting.
- Proficiency with the National Electrical Code and local codes.
- Ability to read blueprints or technical diagrams, install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting
- Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work
- Aptitude in math and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Valid Driver s license.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Required to commute to job sites, drive company vehicles and occasional overnight stay, as needed.
- Must be punctual and adhere to a daily schedule.
- Prior military experience preferred.
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
