- Assist in design, development, and evaluation of the operation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and related equipment, such as propulsion systems & power generation systems
- Support the US Coast Guard reviewing third party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems and components
- Perform design reviews, evaluating constructability, helping resolve technical issues, and managing information generated through the design and construction phases
- Conduct analyses of propulsion systems and types, lead development of technical data packages and reviews
- Conduct trade studies regarding ship configuration
- Conduct marine engineering analysis
- Create graphical representations of structures and systems
- Inspect equipment or systems
- Assist in research of advanced engineering designs or applications.
- Prepare technical reports for internal use
- Promote company capabilities and qualifications to assigned client group
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities within the pipeline
- Develop opportunity capture strategies and support their execution
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or High School diploma and 13+ years of relevant experience
- At least 5+ years of experience:
- Progressively responsible experience in marine specific fields (i.e. propulsion systems, power-generation systems, fluids and hydraulics)
- Working with Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with Auto-CAD
- Familiarity with ABS, NVR, and commercial ship design rules and regulations.
