Location: Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC), U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research (USAISR)Position: AnesthesiologistsRequired Qualifications:
Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).
Education: Must be a graduate from a medical school accredited by recognized bodies such as the AMA, AAMC, LCME, COCA, or an equivalent foreign body. Must have permanent certification by the ECFMG, or have completed the USMLE.
Board Certification: Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiologists (ABA).
Internship/Residency: Completion of an approved internship and residency in anesthesiology.
Certifications: Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
Licensure/Registration: Must be licensed to practice in the State of Texas.
DEA Registration: Must have an active DEA registration.
Legal Work Status: Must be a U.S. citizen or hold legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Clinical Competency: Demonstrated clinical competency within the last two years in anesthesiology.Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience within the last 10 years in anesthesiology, including expertise in cardiac, thoracic, vascular, burn, neuro, and pain management.
At least five (5) years of experience in managing cardiac, pediatric, critical care, and trauma patients (Level I).
Minimum of four (4) years involved in anesthesia residency education, with roles such as resident mentor or core faculty member.Job Responsibilities:
Perform clinical duties as required for military or government civil service physicians of similar experience within the MTF.
Deliver services that meet or exceed standards of professional practice.
Manage a full range of anesthesiology services including cardiac, thoracic, vascular, burn, neuro, and pain management.
Schedule and manage caseloads including both scheduled and unscheduled patient care.
Participate in on-call and call-back duties as scheduled by the department.Hours of Performance:
HCWs will be scheduled for 24-hour coverage, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Expected to work an average of 160 hours per month.
Minimum of five (5) shifts per month required to maintain system access.
Scheduling Details:Department will establish service schedules.
Contract personnel must not work at another institution within 8 hours of their scheduled shift.
