Taking a practitioner-first approach in everything we do makes it possible for health and wellness practitioners to devote more time to their clients while they use SimplePractice to start, grow, and maintain a successful private practice.The RoleThe Legal Department at SimplePractice seeks a Paralegal & Contracts Manager to support the team with tasks and duties crucial to the contracts and legal process. The Paralegal & Contracts Manager will work closely with the Deputy General Counsel to provide support for CLM implementation and the various stages of the contract management process including intake, assignment and triaging work based on various criteria, system maintenance, and execution of contracts. This person will also play a critical role in the administration of the contract database in direct support of the company's business strategy and activities. You should be a motivated self-starter and able to learn new skills quickly.Responsibilities
  • Administer the contract management system for SimplePractice in Ironclad.
  • Monitor the procurement intake request tools (Zip) for contract review requests including the initial triage of new legal requests and collaboration with business owners.
  • Prepare and disseminate information to appropriate employees regarding contract status.
  • Ensure contracts are reviewed, approved, and executed, including facilitating the contract signing, in accordance with the Company's guidelines and policy.
  • Administer contract expiration and renewal process; coordinate contract closeout activities, including terminations in Ironclad.
  • Archive executed contracts in Ironclad by reviewing the signed agreement and updating the contract properties to capture key contract terms more effectively.
  • Assist in the training of Ironclad end users and respond to any workflow or process related questions about the tool.
  • Design additional Ironclad workflows as needed.
  • Work with in-house Counsels to develop and update Simple Practice's contract management playbook for various types of contracting including Vendor Agreement, Professional Services Agreement, Sales/Technology Platform Agreement, and Alliance/Partnership Agreement.
  • Track open legal requests and provide summary updates through completion, which helps to effectively close opportunities and capture key performance metrics.
  • Assist other departments to generate reports on executed agreements in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in internal stakeholder calls to discuss contract approach for legal and other key stakeholders to influence the number of days it takes to execute contracts, which helps the business realize revenue quicker.
  • Act as a liaison between the corporation and external counsel on contracts, litigation, immigration, and intellectual property matters.
  • Assist with other legal operations projects and contract administration duties as needed.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience performing contract management role and other related legal support functions, preferably in a technology company.
  • Previous experience implementing and managing a CLM.
  • Basic knowledge of contract law, types of contracts, terms and conditions, legal requirements, and contract negotiation process.
  • Experience supporting an in-house legal department.
  • Experience using Zip and/or Ironclad is a plus.
Bonus Points
  • Proficiency with Google Suite tools and/or Microsoft Office tools. (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment in a rapidly growing company.
  • Must be well informed about SaaS tools and proficient in the use of modern technology.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assigned tasks in a productive manner.
  • Must be detail oriented and have great interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with respect to agreement contents and other highly sensitive business matters and projects.
Base Compensation Range$90,000 - $110,000 annuallyBase salary is one component of total compensation. Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus or commission. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.The above represents the expected base compensation range for this job requisition.
