We are having a BLAST at Mad Science! We launch rockets, demonstrate lasers, teach children about the prehistoric world of dinosaurs, become secret agents, build robots, and more! You will inspire the next generation of scientists through our innovative activities that show kids what science is really all about. As a Mad Science Camp Counselor, you will lead students through an inquiry-based discovery method involving instructor demonstrations, hands-on experiments, and amazing take-home projects that will illustrate how science affects the world around us. Mad Science is the world's leading provider of fun science programs for elementary-aged children.We are currently looking for energetic individuals to experience a unique working environment and join our growing team to provide the best STEM enrichment camps in DC, Maryland and Virginia!Full-time, seasonal positions are available for candidates who:
  • Have experience working with groups of children aged 6-10
  • Are available to work full time most weeks between June 16 and August 22, 2025
  • Are outgoing and have a fun personality
  • Have their own reliable car
Position DescriptionAs a Mad Science Summer Camp Counselor, you will be responsible for teaching our summer camp curriculum to a group of elementary-aged children each week. Our camp day runs from 9 am to 4 pm, with before and/or after care from 8-9 am and 4-6 pm respectively at many locations. We have camp locations throughout the DC metro area, including Vienna, McLean, Bethesda, Rockville, Gaithersburg, Silver Spring, DC, Howard County, Arlington, Annandale, Fairfax, Springfield, Alexandria, Chantilly, and more. You will be scheduled to locations based on where you live, and will be at the same location all week (and sometimes from week to week as well). We provide all the materials, as well as a paid training on all the content. All you need to do is bring your eagerness to learn, and we give you all the tools you need to deliver an amazing summer for our campers! Mandatory training and orientation will be conducted during the first two weeks of June, so you will need some availability during those weeks to learn the content.   • Base pay of $625-675/week (up to $835 including after-care)
