- Work with data scientists, data engineers, and software engineers to deliver analyses sought at underlying business objectives.
- Implement data driven methodologies to improve product performance and capability.
- Monitor and maintain existing prediction, optimization, and simulation engines as well as platform health, as determined by business leadership.
- Implement custom SQL queries against our data warehouse (Redshift/Snowflake), run statistical data analyses, and write custom Python code in a production level environment.
- Ensure technical approaches taken by the Data Science and Analytics team are appropriate for their objective and underlying data structure.
- Brainstorm new functionality and features for future platform improvements.
- Work with semi-technical and non-technical business units in delivering actionable insights from large data sets.
- Understanding of common machine learning algorithms (regression, classification, clustering, etc.), linear & matrix algebra, parametric and non-parametric hypothesis testing/statistics.
- Intermediate Python and SQL skills, High proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables) and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field with 2+ years professional experience in data analytics, media tech or ad tech.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including experience building and communicating analytics to non-technical staff.
- Exposure to mathematical optimization methods (specifically linear/mixed-integer programming) and/or with modern optimization tools (Gurobi, CPLEX, PuLP).
- Exposure to projects using AWS based infrastructure, distributed data warehouses (Redshift, Snowflake), and distributed computing (Kubernetes, Docker, Databricks).
- Proficiency working on team-run data science projects (GitHub, Jira).
- Passion for problem-solving and the resourcefulness/tenacity to find answers to difficult open-ended questions.
- Acute attention to detail, strong critical thinking skills, and excellent time management skills.
- Proficiency with extracting insights from cloud-based, large data sets.
- Basic grasp of relational database structures and data management
- Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure (Amazon Web Services/Snowflake) or Unix/Linux based systems.
- Experience in media at an agency, publisher, or ad-tech firm with a fundamental understanding of how advertising is bought and sold (digital, addressable, and/or linear television).
- An action-oriented, ambitious approach to building products within a fast-paced environment, with focus on changing the way partners perceive our brand.
- Master's Degree/Ph.D. in a STEM field. Professional experience excludes academic/intern-based work.
