Job Description:Since 1965, UPSCO has been a pillar in the natural gas industry supporting utilities, contractors, and material integrators to manufacture and supply the best custom piping fabrications, products, tooling, and service in the natural gas infrastructure and underground construction pipeline industries.Job SummaryPerform general accounting activities such as maintenance of the GL and preparation of various accounting statements and reports.Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
  • Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks to substantiate business transactions.
  • Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and totals accounts, using calculator or computer.
  • Answer account related inquiries and/or route inquiry to the appropriate department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Nature and Scope
  • Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.
  • Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.
Work Environment
  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking and/or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older
  • Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable
Education and Experience
  • HS Diploma or GED, strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.

  • Experience in basic bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, and cash balancing activities.
