They are tasked with ensuring the efficiency, safety, and reliability of complex processes through the application of programmable logic controllers, control algorithms and methodologies. The Engineer will also support general industrial engineering tasks like quantifying process & operational inefficiencies and developing mechanisms to improve them. This position works with other Maintenance crafts, Reliability, Operations, and Technical groups daily. The successful candidate is a self-starter with strong leadership capabilities that can manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time and demonstrates ability to work with minimal supervision.Job Description
  • System Analysis and Design: Analyze system dynamics, develop mathematical models, and design control algorithms to achieve performance objectives.
  • Ability to read blueprint drawings, schematic, logic, and one-line diagrams.
  • Must be able to take initiative and work independently. Has the ability to plan and organize own work.
  • Responsible for estimating labor and materials and for the safe and economic use of resources.
  • Looks for and acts on opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ability to grasp complex issues and apply good problem-solving skills to develop recommendations/solutions.
  • Build positive working relationships with peers and other crafts, both internally and externally to TWC.
  • Effective communication is essential for understanding client requirements, collaborating with team members, and providing clear instructions. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary to excel in this role.
  • Be on call for any issues with power generation assets and affected customers.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in the conceptualization and design of industrial automation system architectures.
  • Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), including programming languages such as ladder logic and function block diagrams.
  • Understanding of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, and DeviceNet for interfacing with various automation devices.
  • Familiarity with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems for monitoring and controlling industrial processes, including configuration, programming, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of process instruments such as flow meters, level sensors, temperature controllers, and pressure transmitters used in industrial automation.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and methodologies for optimizing production processes, reducing waste, and improving efficiency in industrial automation environments.
Pay Range: $80,000 - $100,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.Additional Information
