- Plans and implements proper job procedures to promote safe work practices
- Ensures full compliance of safety rules, good housekeeping, and safe working conditions for all bridge personnel
- Conducts safety meetings with and audits bridge personnel to identify safety concerns and ensure safe work practices and rule compliance
- Provides safe and reliable tools and equipment to bridge personnel
- Works with Purchasing to develop contracts for bridge repair or renewal
- Responsible for CPKC scales across the system
- Responsible for administration of safety action plan for Bridge department
- Stays within budgets
- Solicits quotes from equipment and material suppliers and Purchasing to ensure best price and availability
- Demonstrates operational excellence by knowing and applying the business requirements
- Demonstrates customer focus and contingency planning to ensure stakeholder expectations are met
- Understands the relevant business metrics and applies effective tactics to sustain a culture of operational effectiveness that produces teams of high performing, engaged and empowered operational leaders
- Identifies when a rule/regulation/policy has been violated and has one-on-one accountability conversations with an individual who has not met expectations
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a job related major field of study
- Minimum ten (10) years of relevant professional experience, including leading and managing complex projects or programs with outcome-focused deliverables, or equivalent combination of education and experience
