Then this internship might be interesting to you!Background informationASML’s Development & Engineering (D&E) sector is responsible for the specification, design and realization of all products in the ASML portfolio. Within the D&E sector, the Mechanical Development cluster is responsible for the definition, realization and qualification of mechanical modules and (sub)systems within these products. As a part of the cluster Mechanical Development, the group Mechanical Constructions is responsible for engineering main frame constructions and structures, in-build service mechanisms, outer covers and system to fab interfaces.Your assignmentRegarding the outer covering, at the Auxiliary Compartment area (ACOM) frames and panels have been applied for decades. The intention now is to update this design, because over time a lot has changed. The requirements have become stricter due to the expanded number of machines in the field. Now, we would like to get a fresh look at how to create design improvements on the outer covering. Therefore, your assignment is about conducting a feasibility study on the redesigning of the ACOM frame.Your tasks may include:Investigation to the background of the current design;Update of the requirements: functionality, cost of goods, cost of service, manufacturability, safety regulations, reliability, ergonomic;Definition of several new concepts;Organization and preparation of a decision-making session together with the relevant stakeholders;Sketch of the solution in Siemens NX;Elaboration of the chosen solution more into detail;Finally, conclusions and recommendations;We provide you with the current requirements, the roadmap and the volume at which the design should be realized. A supportive team and a mentor will help you get acquainted with our organization.Your profileTo be a match for this internship, you:Are busy with your master's in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering;Have affinity with mechanical design, preferably in NX CAD.Are solution oriented and have a hands-on mentality.Have good communication skills in English (both verbal and written).This is a graduation internship for 5 days (2 days from home) a week with a duration of 5 to 9 months.
