Job Title: Central Plant OperatorPay Rate: $20.00-$30.00 per hour.Job Summary:The Broadmoor is committed to creating a culture of family and community while simultaneously providing a genuine, unforgettable experience for our guests and team. This role will play a key part in continuing to uphold our reputation and providing exceptional service to our guests.As a member of the Engineering team, this position is responsible to operates and maintains power plant equipment such as high-pressure steam boilers, domestic hot water heaters, emergency generators, fans, pumps, hydronic fire system components, fireplaces and fire pits, air compressors and other related components to the preceding equipment by performing the following duties.Our employees represent the Broadmoor brand and are Ambassadors of our Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond Standards.What you will be doing:
  • Reads meters and gauges or automatic recording devices at specified intervals to verify operating conditions.
  • Records data such as temperature of equipment, hours of operation, fuel consumed, temperature or pressure, water levels, analysis of flue gases, voltage load and generator balance.
  • Visually inspects equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment, or lubrication.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and repair on all boilers, heat exchangers, emergency generators, air compressors, fans, pumps, and related heating equipment.
  • Perform and record water analysis/treatment for all hydronic heating systems.
  • Utilize trade tools, instruments, detection, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Read and comprehend blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Document all work performed and parts used.
  • Work safely and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Comply with all hotel policies including safety and environmental.
  • Cross train for Plumber and Night Technician position
  • Follow all safety and security policies, reports any suspicious activities, and Lost and Found items to maintain a safe workplace.
  • Follow all procedures to properly use, store and transport equipment in a safe manner to ensure equipment is not damaged.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with experience
  • Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic team member who works well with others.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) with a work environment that may be indoors and outdoors at times.
