- Plans, develops and conducts graded exercise testing.
- Monitors patient’s activity, physiological response, and adherence to the exercise sessions.
- Provides specific exercise prescription to individuals based on age, culture and orthopedic considerations. May also analyze external monitor findings utilizing appropriate technology and processes report according to protocol; and assist in management of patients with implantable devices, including but not limited to triage, entering and tracking data, reviewing remotes, performing in-clinic interrogations, and scheduling patients as needed.
- Provides patient education talking points and/or individual and group counseling and teaching regarding principles of a healthy lifestyle. May create and update educational materials.
- Assists with new employee orientation within department.
- Communicates and collaborates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services.
- Participates in research projects and on committees/task forces as member, consultant and/or chair.
- May flex to the medical program or surgical program as needed.
- Required Bachelor's Degree Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Health Science or related field
- Preferred Master's Degree Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Health Science or related field
- skills, knowledge, abilities typically gained through less than 2 years of relevant experience in the following areas: conducting graded exercise testing, knowledge of cardiovascular physiology, risk factor identification/modification; basic electrocardiogram (EKG) knowledge or completion of an internship in Cardiac Rehab. Required
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Preventive Cardiology and Rehab, Cardiovascular Imaging, Congenital Heart Center, and Implantable Cardiac Device Clinic 90 Days required Or
