Substitute Teacher - Early Childhood Development Center - St. Louis Catholic Church, Austin

- Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school
- Supervises children for safety and appropriate behavior
- Assists students in supervised activities
- Demonstrates a willingness to respond to individual student need
- Reinforce positive behavior management procedures
- Ensure the safety of the children by following all St. Louis Catholic Church and School, and State of Texas regulations, regarding childcare.
- Model appropriate play and interaction for children.
- Sit with children at snack and lunch time, modeling proper table manners.
- Respect the confidentiality of staff, children, and families.
- Knows all emergency procedures including location of emergency phone numbers and building emergency procedures
- Communicates effectively with students, parents, and other professionals
- Communicates with ECDC Director about any problems or concerns
- Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits
- Follows direction and handles multiple tasks
- Other duties as directed by the ECDC Director.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
- CDA credential is a plus.
- Experience working with children preferred
- Valid Texas driver's license or Government issued ID
- Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout the employment period.
- Must be able to pass an extensive criminal background check.
- All employees of the parish are engaged in ministry and closely tied to the Pastor in the exercise of his ministry and obligations to the church.
- The parish is an at-will employer.
- All buildings and vehicles owned by the parish are tobacco free.
- Working in a fast-paced environment with priorities and plans that may change rapidly.
- May be required to engage in religious ceremonies, conduct, and speech including Catholic prayer and liturgical celebrations.
- Will be required to adhere to established dress codes and conduct standards.
