Our employees live by these values through the work they do, every day, as one team.The opportunity:As a Chipseal Operations Supervisor this role will assist the Chipseal Department Manager by delivering work for our customers safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standard. You are responsible for the operational delivery of work within a single functional department within a division. This role is for the Bay of Plenty sealing department. Coordinating all on site-foreman, employees, plant resources and subcontractor teams. You could be involved in large projects in scope and size or multiple smaller projects. This role will also use your skills and experience in the chip sealing operations to provide training and development to the operational staff within the department.In addition to the above you will:Assist Department Manager with input into the pricing of work and preparation of tenders, quotes, estimates for the chipseal departmentBe aware of and oversee contractual procedures for managing changes to scope of work for direct work and sub-contractor agreementsEnsure reports and programmes are prepared and submitted correctly and in a timely mannerEnsure forward planning, organising, and ordering of contract subbies, materials, plant, people required to deliver the workEnsure department staff are provided with leadership, training, and guidance to maximise performanceEnsure the delivery of all work to required standardsBuild and maintain strong professional relationships with customers and other key stakeholdersProvide technical advice and support to the sealing teamsUndertake seal treatment selection and seal designs where requiredEngage, manage, and supervise internal and external subcontractors required in the delivery of the physical worksTo be successful in this role, you will:Minimum 5 years relevant experienceExperience managing and developing teamsSafety focusedCurrent class 1 drivers licence minimum, Class 4/5 Preferred with WTR + DG endorsementsSkill in using Microsoft office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and WordKnowledge of seal design processTo ensure our employees are well looked after, we offer a suite of benefits such as:Company vehicle provided in this positionMedical insurance for you and your familyLife insurance from day oneKiwiSaver employer contributions after service milestones up to 7%Fuel discount cardParental leave top up payment with additional return to work supportFamily scholarshipsOngoing training and development, career growth and progression opportunitiesGreat discounts at a wide range of retailersCreating, Connecting, and caring for the communityOur people regularly donate their time to local causes and initiatives, while at a regional and national level we provide financial support, skills, and resources to a wide range of organisations that are strengthening our communities.
