- Must be proficient in corrosion control and pipeline integrity methods and technologies, have a working knowledge of measurement, electrical, and mechanical activities.
- Whether performing or supervising others within an assigned area, specialists are responsible for a variety of tasks involved in analyzing, advanced troubleshooting, testing, monitoring, maintaining, installing, repairing, maintenance, etc.
- Expected to respond to call-out situations and may be required to perform additional duties due to operational upsets, construction projects, emergencies or other unusual situations.
- Must perform all duties in a safe manner consistent with Company procedures and policies and responsible for training.
- Provides assistance to District personnel. Have a working knowledge of measurement, mechanical and electrical/electronic activities as it is related to the corrosion control duties.
- The ambition to continue to learn the most modern methods of corrosion control, including attending classes, trainings, seminars, etc.
- Must reside within 45 miles of reporting location. The described job duties are a framework in which work will be assigned. This description is not inclusive of all responsibilities or job assignments. This position will require extended off-hour duties at times.
- High School diploma or equivalent including a minimum 2 years' experience in corrosion control supporting pipeline integrity projects.
- NACE certified CP level 1 required
- Technical knowledge for the application and maintenance of external & internal corrosion control.
- Excellent verbal & written communications skills and be capable of effectively interfacing with all levels of management, field personnel, and professionals.
- Must be able to use sound judgment, be a self-starter and well organized.
- Detailed knowledge of pipeline operations, API, DOT procedures and HES.
- Proficiency utilizing MS Applications.
- Able to use and operate all pertinent safety equipment when performing duties in potentially hazardous areas (respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, etc.).
- Must be able to work alone and outdoors in extreme weather and perform heavy physical labor in a safe manner.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license for the state of residence.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Driving, walking, and standing frequently
- Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions and some heavy lifting
- Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment
- Occasional overnight travel may be required
