The Legal Manager at Voxy plays a significant role in advising a fast-growing company offering SaaS B2B licenses for a multi-language digital learning platform through the legal landscapes of global markets. This position is responsible for managing all legal aspects of the company's operations worldwide, promoting compliance with local and international laws pertaining to digital commerce, intellectual property rights, data privacy, and corporate governance. As the head legal advisor, the Legal Manager will safeguard the company's reputation by mitigating legal risks and framing the groundwork for the company's policies and strategies.The ability to integrate automation and other innovative solutions to scale legal operations efficiently is crucial. As the head of Legal, they will provide proactive legal guidance to senior management that align with the company's strategic goals while ensuring all operations adhere to legal standards.Their expertise in negotiating contracts with clients, partners and suppliers, and providing proactive legal guidance to senior management will be demanded daily. By ensuring that the company's operations adhere to legal standards, the Legal Manager will directly contribute to the company's sustainable growth and its ability to innovate securely in the digital learning space.\nWhat you'll be doing
  • Defining and managing the contractual standards of Voxy's commercial agreements, affiliate agreements and third-party agreements in relation to Voxy's products and services, reviewing and negotiating with counterparties.
  • Handling Voxy's CLM platform, ensuring consistency, safety and continuous improvement.
  • Managing and developing efficient and streamlined contract negotiation and vendor management processes, as well as standard form agreements and build processes to empower Voxy's team to operate autonomously within guidelines.
  • Counseling in data-privacy laws and regulations, especially based on GDPR, LGPD and US regulations, responding to client's queries and ensuring compliance with client's data protection.
  • Serving as lead counsel on strategic deals, resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships, and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries. Providing time-sensitive support on an array of legal inquiries in connection with all aspects of our global operations
  • Researching and assessing legal issues and provide advice to minimize potential legal risks
  • Anticipating and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current laws relevant to your own substantive area to provide strategic advice and foster compliance
  • Supporting and advising the People department on labor laws and contractor management.
  • Collaborating with our Sales, Customer Success and other teams within the company
  • Ensuring negotiations are conducted in line with our internal guidelines, core values and with transparency.
What we're looking for
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese. Spanish proficiency is valued
  • Qualified to practice law in Brazil (OAB registered).
  • 8+ years experience; experience as in-house is highly valued
  • Strong contract skills, both for high turn-around and for complex contracts negotiation and management.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations, especially in Brazil and Europe.
  • Experience in labor law counseling, especially in Brazil.
  • High degree of independence, initiative and decisiveness, and also to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills, and an ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines.
