- Conduct detailed quantity take-offs for PEMB components, including structural steel, metal roof and wall panels, insulation, accessories, and other related materials.
- Estimate manufacturing costs for PEMB components, considering material prices, fabrication expenses, transportation costs, and supplier/vendor quotes.
- Utilize specialized estimating software and databases to prepare accurate cost estimates for both manufacturing and construction phases of PEMB projects.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, manufacturing teams, subcontractors, and vendors to gather essential information and clarify project details.
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and cost breakdowns for PEMB projects, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with client requirements.
- Evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes for construction-related services and materials, negotiating pricing to meet project cost targets.
- Assess project risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to optimize project profitability and mitigate potential challenges.
- Participate actively in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations, offering technical expertise and support as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, project documentation, and communications, facilitating seamless project execution and procurement processes.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on PEMB projects and expertise in both manufacturing and construction cost estimation.
- In-depth knowledge of PEMB systems, materials, manufacturing processes, and construction methods.
- Proficiency in utilizing advanced estimating software such as Bluebeam, Planswift, or equivalent, coupled with strong analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the capacity to interpret complex project documents and specifications meticulously.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Experience in value engineering and cost-saving strategies is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to PEMB construction.
- OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent is advantageous.
