Would you like to be a part of a new and exciting international school environment and teach at a European School?We are looking to fill two part time positions in Greek as a First Language and Italian as a First language starting next school year.Greek as a First LanguageYou will teach one Greek student in S5, which is the final orientation year before the Baccalaureate itself starts in S6. Greek students are in the system up to and including S5 also entitled to teaching in Ancient Greek. The position equals – in the first year - 19% of a fulltime position and encompasses 5 x 45 minutes of teaching each week as well as marking assignments, giving grades etc. Two of these periods are teaching in Ancient Greek and the other three are teaching in Language 1 Greek.You can read more about the syllabus in Language 1 Greek at this linkAnd about Ancient Greek hereThe position is dependent on the student’s enrolment at ESCPH and will end when the student graduates, or if they choose to leave the school.After the first year the student will no longer receive tuition in Ancient Greek. At the same time, though, the number of periods in L1 will increase to 4 per week. The percentage of hire will therefore be 15% in year 2 and 3.Italian as a First LanguageYou will teach three Italian students in S7, which is the final year of the Baccalaureate. The position equals 16% of a fulltime position and encompasses 4 x 45 minutes of teaching each week as well as marking etc. Also, you will prepare and mark an internal written exam in January and examine the students orally in June 2025.You can read more about the syllabus at this linkAs the students are expected to graduate in June 2025, this is a one-year position.Requirements:
  • A relevant bachelor's or master's degree.
  • Fluent Greek/Italian speaker
  • Good knowledge of English, which is the common language at the school
  • Proven experience in teaching the relevant age group (age 11-19)
  • Outstanding commitment and ability to engage students and assist in developing their social, creative and academic skills
