Our expert recruiters support you at every step in the process and as a Best of Staffing company, Sterling provides exciting work with exceptional employers across the U.S.Job Summary:The 2nd shift Maintenance Mechanic will perform troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repairs on modular bottle filling and packaging machinery.Job Duties:
  • Maintains a safe work environment and conformance to all safety, environmental, customer, and cGMP requirements as specified by Operations Management.
  • Manages and executes corporate PM and WO systems for area of responsibility.
  • Coordinates internal and external resources in fulfilling PM and WO functions.
  • Recommends and implements actions to improve operations related to core responsibilities.
  • Interfaces directly with engineering and operations and communicates effectively in verbal and written form.
  • Provides team leadership in meeting the company’s quality and production goals.
  • Takes on an internal customer focused “service” approach to activities.
  • May be required to work in multiple company locations when necessary.
  • Provides assistance to production and engineering when called upon, or when need is observed.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED, plus vocational school and 4+ years of relevant maintenance experience in a manufacturing, tool & die, or mechanic shop.
  • Must be able to use and maintain basic machine shop equipment.
  • Must have experience with providing maintenance of manufacturing equipment. Preferably in the food, cosmetic or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Must be familiar with basic mechanical design and be able to read and modify mechanical drawings and process drawings.
  • Must be familiar with basic electronics and simple controls. This includes being able to effectively read and use electrical schematics and control diagrams for installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Must be able to install simple electrical services and controls. Broad level understanding of electrical codes a plus.
  • Must be computer literate and be able to effectively and efficiently use the software tools required for the job. These include, but are not limited to, Outlook, Office products, MRP systems (e.g. Smart Maintenance).
  • Must be able to solicit quotes from vendors and contractors and generate and submit requisitions for parts and labor necessary to fulfill the activities described in the previous section.
  • Electrical certification is a plus.
