- Ensure the stability, reliability, and security of software systems throughout their lifecycle.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to establish baselines for software systems, including defining and documenting system requirements, configurations, and interfaces.
- Implement and maintain configuration management processes and tools to track and control changes to software systems throughout their lifecycle.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure the integrity and consistency of baselined software systems.
- Work closely with software development teams to understand their approaches and processes, providing guidance and support to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to identify and address potential vulnerabilities and risks within software systems.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of software development tools and technologies, considering their compatibility with configuration management processes and cybersecurity requirements.
- Monitor and report on the performance and effectiveness of configuration management processes and tools.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams on systems engineering best practices, configuration management, and software development processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and cybersecurity practices to continuously improve system baselining and configuration management approaches.
- Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience. Relevant experience to be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Active Top Secret Clearance with CI Polygraph
- (3) years of experience in Systems Engineering, with a focus on baselining software systems, configuration management, software development processes, and/or cybersecurity.
- Solid understanding of systems engineering principles and practices.
- Proficiency in configuration management tools and processes.
- Familiarity with software development approaches and methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a plus!
