- Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of transportation projects.
- Lead schematic design efforts, ensuring compliance with project requirements and regulations.
- Successfully achieve NEPA environmental clearance for schematic designs.
- Manage design teams, providing guidance and oversight throughout project lifecycles.
- Demonstrate proficiency in conformity, STIP, TIP, and UTP requirements.
- Execute tasks such as IAJRs, traffic studies, public meetings, and public hearings.
- Skillfully apply for and obtain design exceptions and deviations as necessary.
- Perform detailed cost estimates for transportation projects.
- Write white papers and develop comprehensive project management plans.
- Recruit and manage a supporting design team.
- Act as the Project Manager on TxDOT issued RFPs, building complete design teams through established relationships with subconsultant partners.
- Direct the development of competitive proposals.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Texas.
- 15+ years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 10 years managing projects.
- Extensive experience working on projects of increasing complexity in multiple TxDOT Districts.
- Proven track record in managing projects including FMs, lengthy corridors, and interstate highways with multi-level interchanges.
- Demonstrated ability to produce interim and ultimate schematic configurations.
- Experience proposing phasing strategies to meet client budget and schedule constraints.
- Familiarity with both Design-Bid-Build (DBB) and Design-Build (DB) project delivery methods.
- Positive attitude, self-starter, and competitive mindset.
- Ability to technically and professionally mentor members of a project team.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to adapt and be flexible in a changing and growing company environment.
- Ability to work Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm with overtime as needed.
