At Freddie Mac, you will do important work to build a better housing finance system and you’ll be part of a team helping to make homeownership and rental housing more accessible and affordable across the nation.Position Overview:The Sr. Director – Corporate Technology Strategy (CTS), Architecture, reports to the VP, CTS and is responsible for leading the CTS Architecture team. This role collaborates with the Head of the CTS office and partners with the Head of Enterprise Operations & Technology (EO&T), division heads, and division business technology officers (BTOs) as well as other stakeholders to implement fit-for-purpose solutions across all technology functions.Your Impact:Acts as subject matter expert for architecture teams in the plan, design, and delivery of IT solutions.Lead the CTS Architecture team of infrastructure, data, and business solutions architecture experts.Advises teams of IT technology standard requirements, methodology and processes.Drives short- and long-term architecture strategy for the overall IT project portfolio for key business segments.Participates in proof of concepts to assist in defining technology direction and enabling business strategy.Communicates and validates program architecture with infrastructure team, and technology services management team.Assesses the effectiveness, efficiency, and soundness of technology solutions and promotes consistency across division technology solutions, where appropriate.Evaluates operating models to optimize IT resources and capabilities.Partners with BTO Leads to drive technology transformation efforts.Applying best practices, maintaining knowledge of emerging technologies, and implementing innovations to deliver value.Provides periodic updates to Senior Management on technology architecture matters, as needed.Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including division heads, BTOs, risk partners and the Federal Housing Finance Agency.Attracting, developing, and retaining staff.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field.15+ years’ experience in a production IT environment managing applications, enterprise IT infrastructure, hosting service or network areas.Ability to write architectural design documents or review design documents provided by others.Knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies and ability to apply trends to architectural needs.Demonstrated success leading significant, large-scale organizational transformation.Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging technology concepts, practices, tools, and trends.Clear understanding of the secondary mortgage market/Freddie Mac business.Strong analytical capabilities with broad and deep functional expertise and knowledge.Keys to Success in this Role:Commitment to excellence and delivering business value.Demonstrated ability to collaborate with business leaders and translate their needs into actionable, practical initiatives.Proven ability to build relationships and influence across a large, complex organization.Proven ability to lead, coach, mentor, grow, and develop employees.Current Freddie Mac employees please apply through the internal career site.Today, Freddie Mac makes home possible for one in four home borrowers and is one of the largest sources of financing for multifamily housing. Information on these benefit programs is available on our site.This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $237,000 - $355,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
