- Review and interpret customer engineering, specifications, and configuration plans.
- Support business process through interpretation of engineering documentation.
- Ensures timely resolution/referral of user problems by understanding the impact to the user and by assigning an appropriate priority and resolution goal.
- Gain an understanding of engineering drawings, manufacturing methods, finishes, quality requirements, and assembly requirements.
- Assist with the verification and resolution of non-conforming products through RCCA.
- Assist with development of PFMEA, Gage R&R, and other Zero-Defect elements.
- Completion of one Highlight project during co-op placement. This project will generally relate to continuous improvement within the department and will include a formal presentation at the end of the term.
- Technical writing skills
- Desire to gain knowledge of general aircraft parts and component machining, assembly engineering structure, configuration management principles and processes.
- Entry knowledge of computer aided design tools (CAD/CAM, Catia)
- Ability to manipulate data sets.
- Blueprint reading and interpretation.
- Creative problem-solving skills with strong troubleshooting skills
- Must be able to follow both written and verbal instruction.
- Must be analytical and methodical in carrying out tasks and work assignments.
- Detailed oriented - Accurate, thorough, strong work ethic, and be driven to provide a quality solution.
- Understanding of Lean principles, techniques, and philosophies
- The candidate must have completed a minimum of 24 college credits, currently enrolled as a Sophomore, Junior or Senior level status at an accredited college or university in Engineering or related field of study.
- At least 15 hours of completed engineering courses is preferred.
