- Develop relationships with healthcare professionals and provide them with credible, fair and balanced scientific information about Idorsia and its products, research activities, and Idorsia product development while understanding their perspectives, including challenges when treating patients.
- Liaises with key internal stakeholders to build and execute comprehensive, dynamic territory planning with respect to the molecule, molecule life cycle, and therapeutic area and territory.
- Acts as a therapeutic area and product expert as evidenced by regular review of relevant literature, participation in scientific congresses and conferences, internal therapeutic area training, and developing competitive intelligence on other products in the therapeutic area.
- Imparts knowledge, including KOL and site profiling, and education both internally and externally will be a key area of responsibility.
- Assists the medical affairs team in identifying potential investigators and research projects. This may include assistance with investigator-sponsored trial processes, sponsored study site identification, recruitment strategies, and collaboration with clinical operations.
- Reports on observations, insights, and voice of customer obtained through interactions with HCPs and clinical/scientific activity within the territory.
- Respond to unsolicited scientific inquiries from HCPs integrating the scientific data and utilizing approved materials and resources to fully address the HCP's needs.
- Builds strong collaborative and strategic partnerships with their field coalitions.
- Sr. MSL - Mentors fellow MSLs in their onboarding into the MSL role and Medical Affairs team ensuring they effectively and efficiently tackle all new hire responsibilities within their first 30, 60 & 90 days in the role.
- Sr. MSL - Partners with new MSLs to develop their knowledge of the MSL role at Idorsia, the technical and scientific knowledge required to engage HCPs, and are successful in passing their Field Certification Assessment.
- Sr. MSL - Assists in identifying and conducting internal training and communication within the US Medical Affairs team. Participates in the creation of internally created training content.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Doctorate level scientific degree OR Master's level PA or NP degree
- MSL: 2 year's experience as a Medical Science Liaison engaging KOLs in the field of cardiology or nephrology OR clinical experience with hypertension.
- Sr. MSL: 4 year's experience as a Medical Science Liaison engaging KOLs in the field of cardiology or nephrology OR clinical experience with hypertension.
- Must hold a valid US driver's license (driving record verification completed during onboarding)
- Driving as part of the standard job requirements to satisfy external stakeholder engagement. This position requires extensive travel; the average travel for this position is up to 50-70% with some variation based upon the demands of the business imperatives.
- This role will require flexibility in hours worked based on the need to travel and engage in job-related activity. This requirement can be inconsistent and based on the needs of the role and our business.
- Occasionally required to: reach, stand, push, pull, lift, grasp, and feel.
- Frequently required to: perform repetitive motions (typing), talk, and hear. Typically required to perform light work, including occasionally lifting up to 10 pounds. Required to perform work requiring close visual acuity, including frequent reading of detailed documents.
- This position requires extensive face-to-face customer interaction and as such requires current COVID-19 vaccination status.
