The purpose of ESY is to help some of our more significant special education students maintain the learning that has occurred during the past year. Our ESY Building Coordinators will be selecting teachers and teaching assistants for our ESY positions from the pool of applicants. The ESY Building Coordinators will base staff selections on their previous experience working with applicants and the recommendations from teachers who have worked with our students during the school year. Each year we do hire a number of college age graduates and college students with appropriate certification as a way to introduce them to the prospect of a career in education or to offer practical classroom experience for those studying to be teachers.ESY Schedule:
June 10 & 11 - Staff Training
June 12 - July 11
No School June 19 & July 4

Qualified candidates will hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License with one of the following endorsements: early childhood, elementary (K-9), secondary (6-12), LBSI or school service personnel (SLP, SW). Candidates should have LBSI endorsement. Candidates will have a knowledge of a variety of specialized instrucitonal techniques and programs in reading, written language and math.Job Share Guidelines:
Job sharing for certified staff will be considered during ESY on a case by case basis with the following guidelines:
1. Pre-arranged two person collaborative teams with evidence of a communication plan
2. Commitment by both parties to attend all required trainings
3. Evidence of a pre-planned scheduleRate of Pay: $41.00/hourWorking Conditions: 4 hours in the morning, times will be adjusted by level to accommodate transportation.Selection Procedure: Candidates will be selected by the ESY Building Coordinators.
