POSITION PURPOSE:No relocation necessary. The Field Engineer position is responsible for supporting the activities of an industrial construction project site in order to ensure projects meet goals related to schedule and budget.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
  • Assist Site Superintendent in directing personnel and sub-contractors engaged in planning and executing construction project work.
  • Interpret specifications and coordinate various phases of the construction process to ensure goals are met related to schedule and budget.
  • Provide knowledge in the areas of electrical, mechanical, structural, civil, and QA/AC. Troubleshoot and answer questions throughout all areas and phases of construction.
  • Manage and adjust schedules and material usage as necessary.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager and PM Associate to issue purchase orders for all consumables, equipment and outside sub-contractors. Oversee the procurement and delivery of tools, equipment, and materials to ensure continuous project workflow.
  • Serve as ICM representative and field liaison with ICM project staff. Ensure proper flow of communication and issue resolution.
  • Evaluate and document all change orders between ICM and subcontractors as well as from ICM to owner.
  • Continually inspect subcontractor work to ensure project is completed in accordance with design, specifications, schedule, and safety.
  • Prepare and review reports that provide information about work progress, material usage, and costs incurred.
  • Communicate with project manager regarding day to day activities of the project site.
  • Assist Site Superintendent in advising senior level management of potential project problems and assist in resolution.
Education/Certification:High School diploma or GED equivalent, requiredBachelor’s degree in Construction Management or other technically related field, preferredValid Driver’s License requiredRequired Knowledge & Experience:2-5 years field construction experience preferredIndustrial field experience preferredMicrosoft Project experience requiredAutoCAD experience preferredSkills/Abilities:Ability to read Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID’s)Ability to read civil, structural, architectural and mechanical printsPHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITIONMust possess current, valid driver’s license with no restrictions. Up to 75% travel required or as needed.
