POSITION: The Custodial/Maintenance Worker can be a self-starter or work as a team player. He/she is responsible for quality maintenance and some custodial duties at agency buildings and vehicles. This person will be able to work alone and be able to pace himself/herself to get job duties done in a timely manner. Must be able to trouble shoot and ascertain importance of emergency situations versus everyday work needing done. Reports directly to Maintenance Supervisor.QUALIFICATIONS: A semi-skilled person who can maintain a group of buildings by performing minor electrical, mechanical or plumbing duties. Minimum experience of two years in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical or mechanical trades. (Acceptable trades include Carpenter, Mason, Plasterer, Painter, Plumber, Steamfitter, Roofer, Welder, Electrician (buildings), Mechanic (machinist, plant operator). Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Routine maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment.a) opening blocked drainsb) repairing leaky faucetsc) replacing bulbs and switches, receptacles, and balusterd) replacing and repairing screense) replacing broken windows and sashesf) making minor repairs to machineryg) mixing cement or plasterh) painting buildings, rooms, walls or other surfacesi) trimming & weeding flower beds and mulching shrub areas as neededj) planting flowers or mulching as neededk) cleaning and sweeping walksl) power washing and cleaning outside of building as neededm) shoveling sidewalks or snow blowingn) winterizing buildings as needed by weather stripping, putting plastic on windowso) moving furniturep) inventory & order parts as needed for minor repair workq) changing filters in heating & air-cooling systems as requiredr) light construction works) light mechanical duties2. Custodial dutiesa) Picking up trash outside in lawn area.b) Maintaining smoking containers.c) Operating and caring for vacuum sweepers, carpet cleaners, polishing machines or any other janitorial equipmentd) delivering suppliese) inventory and order supplies needed for job dutiesf) setting up & taking down tables for eventsg) cleaning floors and carpets3. Van maintenancea) Deliver vans to be servicedb) Check oil, tires monthlyc) Take vans through car wash when neededd) In extreme emergency situations, may need to substitute as van drivere) Replace brakes and rotorsf) Tire Rotationsg) Oil changes, Fluid Levels maintainedh) Change of wipers, lights4. Will be present for estimates of potential outside contracted work performed at CCC buildings and report to immediate supervisor or CFO.5. Availability in extreme emergency situations6. Other job duties may be assigned.· Maintains and upholds Community Counseling Center's policies, respects confidentiality, and exhibits a professional demeanor at all times while at work.· Any violation of policies and procedures/job duties will be subject to disciplinary action.· Performs other duties as assigned.· Can perform the essential functions of this position with reasonable accommodations, if necessary.· Participates in CCC CQI plan to ensure quality of service to CCC consumers.
