- Graduate of an accredited program of nursing
- Minimum of 3 years’ continuous clinical experience in a critical/acute care setting with at least 2 years of recent management experience preferred.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Texas.
- Patient Care:
- Actively participates in administering patient care and management of related services.
- Coordinates the admission, discharge and transfer of patients in collaboration with other team leaders; ensure appropriate patient status is documented in patient chart.
- Assists families and patients in teaching the skills necessary for successful post-discharge care.
- Assures that patient equipment and supplies are available and in operating condition.
- Performs clinical quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, physician satisfaction, and staff satisfaction surveying as necessary. Identifies and implements corrective actions as necessary.
- Possesses the knowledge of growth and development of appropriate patient populations.
- Maintains the responsibility for professional growth and development.
- Delegates appropriately to non-licensed staff in keeping with job descriptions, licenses requirements and standards of practice.
- Participates in peer review.
- Participates in developing other staff and affiliating students.
- Maintains and develops own professional competencies.
- Maintains and promotes a team spirit through active cooperation and collaboration.
- Assists in interdepartmental service coordination.
- Actively participates in the Performance Improvement and Utilization Review programs.
- Assumes a leader role in the maintenance of the patient-focused care delivery system.
- Assists in directing and guiding staff in the coordination of unit operations.
- Assists in all aspects of care if the environment, such as dietary, housekeeping, infection control, and supply and equipment management.
- Attends 80% of in-services and departmental meetings.
- Help provide staff to other areas of the hospital when needed.
- Maintains positive relationships with internal and external customers.Is effective in interacting with others and problem solving
- Proactive in meeting customer’s needs. Responds promptly to customer needs or requests
